KnowledgeEast was set up as a joint initiative through funding from the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the London Development Agency, the European Regional Development Fund, and the Department for Communities and Local Government.


This funding ceased in 2009. It now operates with support from member Universities from various sources including HEFCE’s Higher Education Innovation Funding (HEIF).
